Training and Development Opportunities at Caspian One

We believe that personal and professional growth isn’t just a nice-to-have; it’s essential. Whether you're new to resourcing or a seasoned expert, the landscape is constantly evolving, and staying ahead means continually learning, adapting, and pushing yourself to further growth.

That’s why we strive to build a culture where development is not only encouraged but actively supported. From structured learning platforms to informal coaching, from team workshops to personal development budgets, there are multiple pathways for you to grow in ways that matter to you.

However, development shouldn’t only be about ticking boxes or adding certificates to your CV. A proactive approach to training and development can help build confidence, discover fresh perspectives, and build the kind of career that excites you.

So, what does that look like in practice? Let’s break it down.

The TRN Portal: Learn at any time, at your own pace

Every Caspian One employee gets access to The Recruitment Network (TRN) portal, a platform designed specifically for resourcing professionals.

Inside, you’ll find:

  • Expert-led training videos and webinars

  • Market insights and trend analysis

  • Tools, templates, and frameworks to help boost your performance

  • Invitations to live events and networking opportunities

TRN gives you access to the same insights and strategies used by top performers across our industry. Whether you want to improve your client conversations, build stronger candidate relationships, or stay ahead of market shifts, it’s all there, ready when you are. It’s flexible, practical, and designed to help you grow at your own pace.

On-the-Desk Coaching: Learn by doing

Some of the most valuable learning happens in the moment. We believe that the best learning happens in real time, through live conversations, shared experiences, and thoughtful reflection. That’s why on-the-job coaching is a core part of how we support your development.

Our approach is built around active listening, open questioning, and guided problem-solving. When someone faces a tricky situation, leaders take the time to understand the challenge, explore what the employee needs to achieve, and help them shape a plan to move forward.

Rather than stepping in with a solution, leaders challenge the plan, offer subtle tips, and ask open questions that encourage employees to think for themselves. This creates a safe space to learn, practice, and build confidence, knowing that support is there when needed.

“Consultants face challenges every day, some straightforward, others more complex. The ability to solve these challenges is a critical skill and developing that skill is essential for long-term success. My role is to empower consultants to build their problem-solving capabilities and grow the confidence to generate effective solutions independently.Carl Hemsley, Delivery Lead

After the moment has passed, we reflect. What happened? What worked? What’s the next step? This retrospective approach helps break down complex problems into manageable chunks and gives employees the tools to tackle future challenges with clarity and confidence.

This method of coaching adds depth to relationships, builds mutual respect, and encourages progression, while making a real impact in your role.

Workshops, Offsites, and Formal Training

Learning at Caspian One doesn’t just happen at your desk, it happens when we come together to share ideas, challenge assumptions, and build something better as a team. Our workshops, offsites, and training are designed to do just that: create space for reflection, collaboration, and growth.

Take our recent offsite at AFC Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium, for example. The focus? Events. Not just the logistics, but the strategy behind them. We explored how events shape client relationships, marketing campaigns, and even internal culture. From in-person roundtables to hybrid experiences, the session was packed with ideation and insight. To keep it fun, the day ended with a “Molecular Spectacular” team-building challenge, complete with Prosecco lava lamps and dry ice sorbet. It was a reminder that learning can be memorable and deeply connected to team spirit.

We also run targeted training workshops, like a recent guided series on lead generation. Instead of a top-down lecture, the sessions were built around open discussion, asking the team how they approach leads, what works, and what doesn’t. By sharing success stories and challenges, the group benefited from collective learning with impressive results. In the weeks following, the team that took part in the workshops saw a 70% increase in average leads per person across the department.

And it doesn’t stop there. We’ve introduced external sales training to support a more holistic sales approach. This includes classroom-style learning, 1:1 coaching, and real-time application on the floor, covering everything from objection handling to communication techniques. To keep things engaging, we’ve tied learning to small, meaningful incentives — from chocolates to ski trips — and we celebrate progress every step of the way.

“We invest in top experts in our sector, boasting an impressive and extensive range of experience in Tech resourcing. This wealth of hands-on experience helps us pass on real-life experiences in our coaching and training approach.”Charmaine Padfield, Delivery Manager

Knowledge transfer is just one part of these sessions; they also help to build confidence, encourage experimentation, and create a culture where learning is continuous and shared. These sessions are designed to energise, align, and inspire, and they’re also a great way to connect with colleagues, share ideas, and build momentum as a team.
